Now that it is 2012 I am motivated to do well this year racing my bike. Starting this Sunday, the 1st, I got in a nice long base ride with a couple of friends. A little harder than I wanted to do but it was still a moderate pace, Zone two you call it where you are building up your aerobic endurance. This week begins week one of my three month base training plan per a modified Friel / Maffetone method which I am doing. I realized after last year that I really need that long base period to build my endurance otherwise I just can’t get that stamina with the time-crunched training sessions they have out there.
